1. This figure I designed as a reference to
the Golden Ratio or Golden Section.

The Golden Mean (or Golden Section), represented by the Greek letter phi, is one of those mysterious natural numbers, like e or pi, that seem to arise out of the basic structure of our cosmos. Unlike those abstract numbers, however, phi appears clearly and regularly in the realm of things that grow and unfold in steps, and that includes living things. Also called the Divine Proportion, it can be observed, for example, in the growth patterns of plants and shells, and in the proportions of the human face. "Equally striking is the fact that this number has been the subject of numerous experiments in psychology."[1] More about the symbolism of phi in my life in WRR006.

Fibonacci Number Series

If you start with the numbers 0 and 1, and make a list in which each new number is the sum of the previous two, you get a list like this:
0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, ... to infinity-->

This is called a 'Fibonacci series'.

Golden Ratio

If you then take the ratio of any two sequential numbers in this series, you'll find that it falls into an increasingly narrow range:

1/0 = Whoa! That one doesn't count.
1/1 = 1
2/1 = 2
3/2 = 1.5
5/3 = 1.6666...
8/5 = 1.6
13/8 = 1.625
21/13 = 1.61538...
34/21 = 1.61904...
and so on, with each addition coming ever closer to multiplying by some as-yet-undetermined number, phi.

The first graph shows these ratios plotted individually and the second, a graphical shape derived from the Golden Ratio, which my design is based on.

The golden ratio is deemed to have the most aesthetically pleasing qualities. For example, a golden rectangle - one built to those proportions - is thought to be the most attractive to the eye.

Due to these natural aesthetic qualities, many artists have used the golden mean and related mathematical principles in an effort to optimize the visual impact of their work.

The "scroll" of a violin or cello and other parts of the body of these instruments are based on the Golden Ratio. The shape of the bass clef in which music for my instrument, the cello, is mostly notated.

Inverted

Most intriguing to me, however, is that this shape also describes my emotional and spiritual journey over the last 12 years - with the effect of bipolar highs and lows diminishing over time to a point in my life where I have found balance, where my "manic thoughts" do not affect me emotionally anymore.

By inverting the graph I also imply the divine source (above, heaven) of my emotional suffering, yes, of all agony and ecstasy, of everything in life in the most general way. It seems to me that phi does not only manifest in our physical cosmos, but also in our metaphysical reality.

 

2. This figure that looks like a #-sign has great symbolic significance for me, which I have discussed in various articles: Confessions 6 and WRR006.

To me it symbolizes:

    • mathematics and music as the most universal of languages,
    • my faith in the following equation: God = Creation (ll and = superimposed),
    • with which I imply that everything is sacred,
    • that good and evil is one (Christian and Satanic crosses superimposed),
    • hence my interpretation of the Biblical Book of Revelations that the Christ and Antichrist is one.
    • The wave shape of the double lines is a reference to the symbol of Aquarius, the sign I was born under.

3.The animation in the top right corner of the page symbolizes the current transition from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius.

A fascinating coincidence is that astrologically the Age of Pisces started about 2000 years ago around the time when Christianity was founded. The sign that Christians used during times of persecution to identify each other was a fish like the one above. The Greek word for fish is ICHTYS, which was an acronym for "Jesus Christ Son of God Redeemer".

Isaiah 40:4-5 (NIV)
Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the LORD will be revealed. And all mankind together will see it.

I quote this verse here because the two lines that both these symbols consist of could also be seen as valleys and mountains, in the case of the symbol for Pisces: one of each and in the case of the symbol for Aquarius: a series of them. It is at the time when these two Ages meet, the transition between them, that this prophecy. I believe, will come true.

4. The letters "im" in the word "impossible" I made nearly invisible to express my faith that "peace" is a possible dream.

5. Total solar eclipses like the 2 we experienced over Southern Africa during the last 2 years and other universal phenomena like the Opposition of Mars during August 2003 and the Harmonic Concordance in November 2003 have always had great universal spiritual significance for cultures around the globe.
